NEWS OF NOTE

Keith Richards honored at the Westport Library.  You can’t always get what you want, but if you try sometimes, you just might get a library card… oh and an award from the Governor.  And here.  And here.  And here.  And here.  And here.   And here. And a pithy opinion piece by John Breunig.  Congratulations to Bill Harmer and staff.

CT Insider asked the public about their thoughts on regulating books in public schools.   The responses are beautiful .

One recent $27K theft aside, CT librarians are usually ‘like detectives’ watching their books.

CT legislative committee Oks bill prohibiting libraries from certain e-book contracts.   This was also published in the Courant.

Grant allows Rockville Library to offer digital literacy classes.

I don’t normally share press releases but I just really love this idea.  Berlin Peck is hosting a home décor swap shop.

Drop me a line if you or your library is in the news and I’ve missed it!

Have a good week,

Ellen
