NEWS OF NOTE

As you likely saw over the weekend, on Saturday President Trump issued an executive order that reduces the federal Institute of Museum and Library Services to its ‘statutory functions.’   The EveryLibrary Institute broke down what that means in a post on Sunday.  Here is the State Library’s webpage on what the IMLS LSTA grants fund.  There are other institutions in Connecticut that also receive IMLS funds.  You can find a full list here

Wow, what an honor!  The South Windsor Library to be renamed the Mary J. Etter Library.    And here.

Libraries and the Power of Words.

Norwalk introduces 2025-2027 Poet Laureate

Drop me a line if you or your library is in the news and I’ve missed it!

Have a good week,

Ellen
