April is Financial Literacy Month and Next Week is America Saves / Connecticut Saves Week Coming up next week…. Keep an eye out next week on our social media for daily savings tips to share with your communities.
For more than 10 years, the Connecticut State Library (CSL) has been a proud member of the CT Saves group along with UConn
Extension, the CT Department of Banking, Better Business Bureau, Chelsea Groton Bank, Asset Building (formerly CAHS), and other partners. CSL will be promoting financial literacy with its partners in a lunchtime learning presentation for University of New
Haven students on Monday and an in-person financial fair for UConn Hartford students on Tuesday. Visit the
America Saves website to sign your library up to be an America Saves
participant, access a financial literacy toolkit, find ideas to share for the week, and promote the
CT Saves Pledge, a self-pledge to yourself to
save to meet your financial goals. Studies show that if you write something down rather than just saying it, that you are more likely to DO it!
Visit the
DLD Financial Literacy libguide for
other ideas, put together an adult book display of your financial titles, or incorporate some picture books from the
Money as You Grow bookshelf
list into your storytimes! Promote something for all ages this month! For any questions, please contact Gail Hurley at
