Hello all!
I hope for all of you who have started a new school year that it has started out smoothly. I just finished my first week back and I must say it's an adjustment to switch out of summer mode...lol. But it is so nice to get back to a routine and connect with students and staff. :)
💥 I am so excited to share that Grace Lin and I have a
new podcast that will launch Sept. 9th. Grace and I have been
in development of this idea for almost 3 years and it finally has come together!
The Bookish State: Tips for Teachers and Librarians will have its
first episode on Tuesday, September 9th, and will feature none other than the amazing Anne Porier! 🙂⭐ The episode will be
All About the Nutmegs since season 1 of the podcast will focus on the CT Nutmeg Award. Future seasons will focus on different state awards (we hope!!).
Podcast Format
📚 1st Tuesday of every month (except Sept) will feature a brief episode with Grace and I booktalking that month's featured book and author.
📚 2nd Tuesday of every month will feature an educator episode with me chatting with other librarians, teachers, and/or students about how to incorporate the award nominee titles into our libraries and classrooms. If you have a great idea/dynamic activity or lesson--please let me know because I am working on my guest list!!
📚 Towards the end of each month (check the website for dates), Grace will be chatting with the featured author of the month in a LIVE WEBINAR that you and your students can view for FREE! I will send another email when registration is up and running:) All of these episodes will also be available via
YouTube if you are unable to tune in live.
Additional Information
⭐ You can visit our
webpage to see the list of authors Grace will be chatting with each month. (Our website is still under construction so bookmark it to check back regularly!)
⭐ Additionally, we are hoping to have students, librarians, and teachers submit questions for the authors so it will be more personal. Stay tuned for more info about how you and your students can submit questions.
⭐At the end of September, Grace will be chatting with CT authors Janae Marks and Leslie Connor--so mark your calendars and start thinking of some great questions.
Wishing everyone a really great school year full of joy and great books!
x
