Hi all,
Could anyone shed some light on the 18 hours of PD required for paras?  Since our library para is in a category of her own, she is not included in emails from the Special Education department.  It sounds as though it's required of all paras, but how is it monitored?  When did this requirement start?  Would trainings like ALICE or Bloodborne Pathogens count?  Thanks in advance for enlightening me.
Best wishes,
Cheryl

Could they do tech trainings? There are lots of those out there. Kristina Holzweiss has lots on her site.

Hi,
I'm wondering if anyone has found library para specific professional development resources that are helpful?
With the 18 hrs of PD para's need to complete now, we are struggling to find relevant resources to her role/ relevant to library world. So far, I found the Vanderbilt IRIS modules (aren't library oriented), and Follet Webinars, which might be our best bet. She has worked as a behavior technician and long term sub so she has the classroom management/ behavior components under her belt already.
Thanks for any help!
