Hi Karen,
I have these slides. It shows the books but doesn't give a description of each one.

Feel free to make a copy and use it.

Subject: [CASL-L] Nutmeg Award slides
Does anyone have slides that they created for the 2026 Nutmeg book award nominees for intermediate grades 4-6 and middle school grades 7-8 that they could share with me?

Thank you,

Good morning,
I am searching for suspense/thriller books that meet the following criteria.
-About a second/early third grade level
-Interesting for an eighth grade boy
-cover that doesn't look ancient or really young

I tried him in a book that's about middle of third grade and it's too challenging for him.

Thank you!
Kim

Hello,

For a K-2 library, what are you using for a benchmark/data collection to show growth over the year?

All ideas/suggestions welcome!

Kerry

I bought hi-lo readers from Orca that worked pretty well. I think the cover illustrations are more appealing than they used to be.

Subject: [CASL-L] High Schools needed to participate in Global Traveling Mural
Hello CT Colleagues/Friends!

I'm at a high school (different one from last year!) and am working hard to get a group together of HIGH SCHOOLS for Shannon Miller's Global Traveling Mural:
LINK

If you're a high school librarian/teacher, please join GROUP 6 for high schoolsLINK

It's free, except for the cost to mail parts of our finished mural to the 9 other participating schools throughout the country.

Below is a photo offinished mural last year at my school before we cut it up into ten pieces to mail to our partner schools:

Two of my library workers designed the mural and then the rest of the school colored it in and/or wrote or drew ways they were pursuing their excellence (school theme).

Below you can see our final mural with one piece from NHS (third panel from left) and the rest from our nine partner schools.

If you haven't participated it's a super fun program and we get to learn more about schools around the country.

Please forward to librarians and teachers at other high schools throughout the country! We need six more schools to finish the team.

Thanks,
Valerie DiLorenzo
