We have a similar bank of loaner laptops and chargers at my school. I used to give them out whenever a student needed a device, but that quickly turned into the same students borrowing every day. Now I've been trying to stick to a more strict rule of no loaners or chargers unless the IT Department has your device for repairs. If they left it at home, that is their responsibility.

Subject: [CASL-L] computer loaner rules?
_______________________________________________Hey All,
We do loaner laptops in the library. We have 15 daily loaners for student use. If you're a school with loaners - who do you handle late students who don't have their laptop? We cut off students after 2nd period, but that's because they didn't come in earlier. But if a kid has an appointment, do you still lend them for the duration of school? Thanks.
TIA!-Caitlin
