Hi everyone - If you'd like a little more information about how to submit testimony, please follow these directions.

Hope it helps!
Jenny

Steps:
Create your testimony in a doc so you can copy and paste or upload it (save as a pdf). I change who I address it to:

Thank you to the Distinguished Members of the Education committee for this opportunity to share my support for the Connecticut State Library.

and then again at the end:
As shared, I strongly support the CT State Library. I appreciate the Education Committee taking a moment to understand to my perspective as a constituent and resident who deeply values the services and roles of the State Library.

I sent the same testimony to the Education, Appropriation, and Children's committees.

How to submit:

Click on the appropriate committee.
Under Contact (on the left):
Select submit public hearing testimony
Meeting date not listed
No bill # - click Meeting date not listed in that box
Choose General comments or supports
Type in or upload your comments

Sincerely,
Jenny

Book sets (for free) from Middletown Library Service Center (part of CT State Library) delivered a school's local public library (for free) through deliverit.ct (also through CSL) have been essential parts of book clubs at two different high schools for me over the years, and I used these services at a Pre-K through 9th grade independent day and boarding school.
(I wrote a letter and submitted it for testimony the other day.)

I hope people continue to submit written testimony and continue to share here via CASL-L how you're using the CT State Library. In this way, we'll all learn more about the services CSL provides to all of our schools/students because they provide so many! It is essential that we let our legislators know how we're using these programs so that the programs and the people who run them do not go away.

I know I am grateful for the resources they provide as well as the ability to order books from other libraries.

What else do you depend on the CT State Library for?
