Do you know a school librarian, or are you a school librarian, who would welcome $2,000 to support a short-term project or event that creates new or enhances existing activities to engage students, families, and community members in the library while promoting the National Day of Racial Healing? Projects do not need to be complex. Examples include expanding the library collection and hosting a related book discussion, bringing in an author or speaker, or collaborating with a classroom teacher to showcase student work during a library open house.

Librarians who already have plans for Martin Luther King Jr. Day or the National Day of Racial Healing can build on those plans, there is no requirement to create something entirely new.

The application deadline has been extended to Monday, December 22, 2025. Full details and the application can be found on the AASL website, National Day of Racial Healing Stipends | American Association of School Librarians, with the link to apply (they do need to be an ALA member)
