Good Morning –

As some of you may know, I shared this message through the CLC email list yesterday.  I’m reposting it here for maximum visibility!

I can’t tell you how happy I am to write this email!

Barbara Johnson former school librarian at Jack Jackter Elementary School in Colchester and current Technology Coordinator for the Colchester Public Schools, is running to be president of the American Association of School Librarians!

I could not be more thrilled.  (Selfie of Barbara and me on the day she announced her candidacy attached for proof!)

If you have ever met Barbara, you know she’s a get-it-done kind of person.  Relentless energy and enthusiasm.  A can-do attitude.  An absolutely devoted school librarian.  A fierce advocate for school libraries.  An infectious leader.  A complete rockstar.  And she’s going to be president of AASL, if we can help her get there!

Take a look at her campaign website!

Want to learn more?  Join Barbara and me on Wednesday, February 11 at 4:00pm on zoom.  We’ll be live in conversation talking about Barbara’s history working in school libraries, her vision for the future of AASL, and what inspired her to take this incredible leap of faith running for national office!  I hope you’ll join us?

And, I hope you’ll spread the word!  Know school librarians in other states?  Invite them to join as well!  This event is open to all.  Thanks for spreading the word!  And let’s go Barbara!

Ellen
