I hope this finds you well! Thank you for all you do for school libraries. Your work is essential and I am so grateful for all you’re doing to promote literacy and a love of reading!

My name is Kailei Pew and I am the author of the upcoming Scholastic Branches series, SUPER VILLAINS IN TRAINING. This early chapter book is designed to help students transition into longer form reading.

I am partnering with illustrator Estrela Lourenço for a FREE, unique, and educational virtual event for schools. We will be teaching students how the publishing process works, reading selections from the book, and guiding students in a draw along. Students will also be able to ask me and Estrela questions about the book, publishing, and life as an author or illustrator.

This is such a unique opportunity to hear from an author and illustrator team. And it’s completely free! We want to give teachers a great resource for their classrooms and students an opportunity to learn from a published author and illustrator.

The event will be a zoom WEBINAR, which is safe for schools! No one is on camera except for the presenters and the general chat is disabled.

Classrooms can attend live or watch a recording made available to registrants for one month after the event.
