Good Morning,

If you don't already have it on a calendar, the first week of May is Children's Book Week! I haven't done much with that in the past, but am going to try to plan a few things this year. And there is another week in November.

Grace Lin created the poster for it this year, so she and I interviewed the women in charge of it for our podcast. Check out the episode here to listen and here to watch the YouTube Video!

And make sure to visit the Children's Book Week website for more information and some cool printables. :)

Hello,

I am trying to set up monthly reading activities/challenges for next year. I'd like to focus on one thing per month. It can follow a theme for the month or not.

For example, September is library card sign up month. Our public library has a bingo sheet with reading and library card activities. We would encourage all students and staff members to take part in this.

I guess I'm kind of picturing being able to give out a one page calendar that shows what is coming up for each month.

Does anyone set up a 10 month plan of reading activities and/or challenges? If so, I'd love to hear how it works and what you think about it. How well is it received by students and staff?

If anyone does something like this, would you be willing to meet with me virtually to talk about it?

Thank you
Kim
