[DLD Virtual Workshop] Wednesday, May 6 from 11-12:30
| Register for Navigating Behavioral Health Resources The Connecticut State Library Division of Library Development (DLD) is hosting a virtual information session,
Navigating Behavioral Health Resources for Children in CT on Wednesday, May 6 from 11-12:30.
This information session (which will be recorded) will provide an overview of the
Children's Behavioral Health Supports and Services throughout Connecticut, with a focus on understanding and navigating the system of care. It will begin by outlining the role and mandate of the Connecticut Department of Children and Families, then
explore what defines a behavioral health crisis and review the key services such as 988, mobile crisis teams, and urgent crisis centers. From there we will look at how the broader behavioral health system in CT is structured, including the types of care
and key entry points. The session will also introduce practical tools for finding and accessing resources, and highlights opportunities for family support, training, and involvement.
Presenters include staff from the
Connecticut Department of Children and Families, FAVOR – a statewide family-led nonprofit and state affiliate of the National Federation of Families for Children’s Mental Health, and
Carelon Behavioral Health CT (formerly Beacon) whose key services include voluntary care management, and community-based, family-centered support. Please join us to hear about all these services and resources in Connecticut! ~ For other 2026 events, please visit:
