End-of-Year Advocacy for School Library Programs: Turning This Year’s Work into Next Year’s Support
As the school year comes to a close, school librarians have an opportunity to shape how their programs are understood, valued, and funded for the year ahead. This webinar with EveryLibrary focuses on practical, values-based advocacy strategies that move beyond storytelling alone and into sustained relationship-building, coalition development, and effective engagement with decision-makers.
Drawing on proven advocacy frameworks, including shared values alignment, “marketing yesterday” to build support, and understanding how funding and policy decisions are actually made, participants will learn how to translate their year’s successes into meaningful support from administrators, educators, families, and elected officials.
The session will help school librarians identify how to use the cycle of budgeting and decision-making to advance their advocacy for their programs and activate supporters using clear, values-driven messaging. Participants will be equipped with actionable strategies to position their school library programs as essential to student success, not optional services. |
