I also used Robert H Lord, and Julie was our rep.  We got new tables and chairs maybe four years ago now?  I also got tables on wheels that flip up easily for nesting/ease of getting them out of the way.  They had many different colors, even white board table tops, which I experimented with and bought 3 of.  They are a HUGE hit - especially with kids as they study math or work out math homework together.  There was no cost difference with a whiteboard table top.

Hi Kathleen,

I have worked with Robert H. Lord in the past and they were great. They came out to visit my space and I was looking at either Smith Systems or VS and I selected VS for tables and chairs. VS is a German company which specializes in school furniture. The furniture is very high quality and has lasted very well for over 10 years. I highly recommend this company. My tables have locking wheels on them and the chairs do not have wheels. I really like both and the table tops can be flipped up and they kind of nest together which makes it so easy for moving them around for events or special days in the library. I'm including my invoice from over 10 years ago so obviously prices are not the same, but as of last year, they still carried these tables and chairs. Their showroom in Manchester had many chairs and tables I could look at which was really nice when making the final choices for chairs.

FYI- their state bid pricing was actually cheaper than the CLC pricing last time I checked.

Dear Kathleen,

Is your district a member of the CT Library Consortium (CLC)? If so, be sure to check out their furniture vendors. If you aren't a member of CLC, I highly recommend you join. Your district likely will quickly earn back the nominal membership fee with the amount of discounts received from CLC vendor contracts.

Hi!  I was asked to price out sturdy library tables that are also moveable....do you have something that you love and could recommend?  I am thinking wood but open to other ideas. I would also love to know your recommended vendors please. THANK YOU!
