More stories on the way!

Did you get a chance to read our Week 1 story: Mabel and the Magic Beans yet? There's more great storytelling where that came from! Here is a little preview of our next story, going live on Monday, June 29. Watch the video to see the preview and stay tuned Friday for a book talk from the authors. Bookmark the page where six weeks of adventure and intrigue will be found.

CT Summer Story Project

Every person has a story to tell, and The CT Summer Story Project has invited public libraries to share theirs, in partnership with colleagues, community members, and middle grade writing groups! Six public libraries across the state of Connecticut have written stories about libraries, local legends, and state landmarks. The stories contain nature, giants, wishes, and princes.

From June 22- July 27, every Monday a new short story will be released with accompanying discussion questions and activities.
To support the program, we have also provided a list of gardening resources containing the libraries that have seed libraries, community gardens, gardening tools to borrow, and host a farmers' market.
And don't forget, reading a story from the CT Summer Story Project is an activity option on the Governor's Summer Learning Challenge Form!
We're looking forward to sharing the narrative surprises of our six inaugural libraries and their authors and illustrators:
  • East Lyme Public Library
    • Pat Procko and Rebecca Scotka
  • Hamden Public Library
    • Hannah Tyce and Brittany Bynum
  • Plainville Public Library
    • Abby Simard and Katherine (Katie) Baker
  • Westport Library
    • Michaela MacColl with Lynne Perrigo and Rowan MacColl
  • Windham Free Public Library
    • Frances McGrath
  • Woodbridge Public Library

    • Gabu Henkelmann Keyl and Manuel Iglesias Fernández
