Helloooooooooooooooooooooooooo Tampa Bay Parrot Heads!!!

The Fruitcake board had a Zoom meeting Tuesday, 10/6 to present the 2020 check to USF.

USF Endowment for Marine Sciences came on board in 1997 and is one of the longest served charities that TBPH supports.

This year, Laura Azevedo, a 2nd year grad student at USF, was the recipient of this year's check for $1500. Each year the check is invested and goes into the endowment. Since 1997 the endowment has grown to over 50K that goes to a Masters or PHD student.

She is analyzing information from buoys and other scientific instruments to study currents and more specifically rogue waves.

By mapping and collecting of data, she hopes to help the shipping industry and seaports avoid trouble waters.
Attached are the 2020 recipients of all awards and a thank you letter from Laura.

I hope you are as proud as I am to be a Tampa Bay Parrot Head, to be able to "party with a purpose" and even through this trying year were able to give to USF.
