Greetings Parrot Heads! It's the day of the year when we enjoy more sunshine than any other day. And what better time than the Summer Solstice to tell you all about Meeting of the Minds! Here's the schedule as we know it today. There's still some things to add, some things will change, and probably even some things we forgot! MOTM Blockbuster Lineup!

The musical lineup for MOTM22 is one worthy of the 30th Anniversary, celebrating 25 years in Key West at the Casa Marina Resort and the island of Key West. In addition to a complete set of Coral Reefers, Meeting of the Minds boasts FIVE national headliners.

THURSDAY
Sister Hazel is a Gainesville, Florida band that formed over a quarter century ago, and remarkably, they're still touring today with their original personnel. Their fantastic harmonies and songs blending rock, folk and country have earned them a few appearances on Billboard's Hot 100, several feature film placements including 10 Things I Hate About You. Their most rabid fans are known as Hazelnuts, and they follow the band's travels and join them for their annual Rock Boat cruise, which they describe as "Spring Break for people with jobs." Our friends Thom and Coley covered their song "Sail Away" on their 2019 TRMA-nominated Album of the Year Shotgun. And their energetic live performances have led the Margaritaville Blog to list them as one of several acts you must see live, along with Michael Franti, Zac Brown Band, and Mac McAnally. This band is new to MOTM, but they are not new to partying with a purpose. Their charity Lyrics for Life raised nearly $500,000 at a concert this spring for pediatric cancer research. Sister Hazel headlines MOTM Thursday night along with the Peter Mayer Group, led by the Coral Reefers lead guitarist.

FRIDAY
Niko Moon is taking his music - our music - to the top of the charts. In the summer of 1977, a country singer took a tropical drinking song to the top of the pop charts and changed the world. And forty-five years after Margaritaville, it's happening again. As a songwriter, Niko penned some of Zac Brown Band's hits, and last year, he broke through as a performer himself with a Number One country song "Good Time," and a hit album of the same name. From Southern California, The Wheeland Brothers are a long anticipated addition to the MOTM lineup. This is a great year for the dream to come true, as the Wheeland Brothers are releasing their first studio album in several years, with the first single "Song to the Sun" debuting last week on No Shoes Radio.

And as if this weren't enough of a headlining duo for Friday night, this double header of rising stars will wrap around a SunSet performance by 10-time CMA Musician of the Year Mac McAnally.

SATURDAY

A Small Number of VIP Room Bundles Are Available

Although Casa Marina general rooms sold out almost immediately when registration opened in the spring, there are a small number of VIP premium room bundles remaining. These are all ocean facing rooms, the remaining rooms and suites all with King Beds. Packages start at $2599, inclusive of four nights premium lodging at the Casa and one VIP registration. The package price includes all resort fees, sales tax and lodging tax. Here's what you need to know:

• VIP registrations and bundles must be paid in full by credit or debit card.

• If you are registering as a VIP with a premium room bundle, you need not contact the hotel or take any further action to reserve your room. However, if you have traveling companions who will be staying in your room, they must register separately. If they wish to also enjoy the VIP benefits such as the breakfast cruise and VIP gift bag, they will need to also register as a VIP since your room bundle includes just one VIP registration.

• PHIP can only reserve you a room type, not a specific room number or location. Rooms are assigned at check-in.  In addition, these room reservations will be handled through PHIP rather than the Casa, so any questions or changes will be addressed by PHIP staff rather than hotel staff.

• VIPs will be sent a confirmation and a link to select one of the three themed VIP breakfast cruises. There is no requirement that you make a selection right away, but space on each cruise is limited to 120 VIPs, so if you have a strong preference, you should make your selection soon. If you have already registered as a VIP and wither did not receive a cruise selection email or have not made a selection, you may contact Michele Watson, the volunteer VIP Concierge and Cruise Director at motmlodging at gmail.com

Please note that all reservations at the Casa MUST include a minimum of Wednesday night thru Sunday checkout. This is because the PHIP room block has expanded to include Wednesday night. A limited number of room nights prior to and after the event are available at the PHIP discounted rate.
