Helloooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Tampa Bay Parrot Heads!!!

We just received an update on our manatee Brutus!

I've attached two photos from last year and one from the year before; it looks like he spent quite a bit of time in murkier water last year, so he was a little harder to pick out in photos.

Sometimes we get sighting report from other bodies of water from the summer, but it was relatively quiet this year. We're slowly starting to see manatees return to the spring, but of our adoptees, only Annie has returned so far. Brutus can be a bit "late" as well; he sometimes stops at a spring to our north, and a different research team lets us know that he's turned up. I can update you once we hear where he is though.

Not only is Save the Manatee Club one of TBPH charities but a Partner with Music on the Bay.

November is Manatee Awareness Month, an annual opportunity to celebrate Florida’s beloved state marine mammal and raise awareness of the ongoing threats to manatees and their aquatic habitat. Celebrate the month with us by learning more about manatees, participating in fun activities, and following along with more fun on social media!
