A little about us:

Tampa Bay Parrot Heads is celebrating its’ 24th birthday this year. Capt’n Harry and Sarah Sunshine started the club in 1994 with 8 members and over the years has grown to a current membership of 560 members.

We party with a purpose and live our motto:

“Let's leave the world a little better than we found it …and have a blast doing it!”

When & where does your club go PHlock for some libations?

TBPH meets the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of every month at Whiskey Joe’s, Courtney Campbell Causeway, at 6:30. Whiskey Joe’s provides live music, drink specials and free buffet for members. Whiskey Joe’s has partnered with TBPH for over 10 years and 8 years as a host for Music on the Bay.

When we have a 5th Wednesday we travel to other venues to make it easier for members that live in other areas.

After beach clean-ups we have Elmer’s Sports Pub and Kahunas provide us a free lunch.

What groups/charities do you support and how (fund raisers, volunteering, write a check)?

TBPH is mainly an environmental group. Our charities that we write checks for from fund raisers, silent auctions and raffles are:

Clearwater Marine Aquarium

Florida Parrot Rescue

Keep Hillsborough Beautiful as a Sponsor for “Tropical Nights” which it their fundraiser.

Save the Manatees

Tampa Bay Watch

USF Endowment for Marine Sciences

Volunteer hours are given to Keep Hillsborough Beautiful by cleaning the beaches (Parrot Head Island – 7 miles that stretches between Hillsborough and Pinellas County) 4-5 times a year and for Tampa Bay Watch for scallop count, build oyster domes and sea grass planting.

During the year TBPH has some drives for:

Florida Resource Center – Flip flops for children and adults at risk

Metropolitan Ministries

Operation Gratitude

Pet Shelter

Toys for Tots

Music on the Bay benefits Shriners Hospitals for Children™, Trop Rock Music Festival runs 3 ½ days and does a combination of Sponsorships, Raffles, 50/50, fundraisers to provide a check.

TBPH donates to other club fund-raiser events.
