[MCOH-EH] Mandatory Tdap and Bitrex fit testing solution

We do require Tdap as a condition of employment except in the case of documented medical contraindication or conflict with religious beliefs confirmed by church/religious leader.

Re: Fit testing solution. You mentioned using Bitrex but talked about issues with pregnant employees and saccharin. Bitrex does not contain saccharin. That's one of the nice things about it. Also, almost everyone can taste it and it's hard to pretend like you don't if you're in the hood with it. AND it doesn't clog up your nebulizers the way saccharin does. So, if you are using Bitrex, you are good to go.

Do any of your institutions require Tdap at time of hire as a condition of employment? HR is revisiting some policies and would like to know.

Also, do you postpone N95 fit testing using Bitrex for pregnancy? We have a recent refusal by a pregnant woman due to the knowledge that INGESTED saccharin crosses the placenta. I cannot find any documentation about INHALED dilution of saccharin and pregnancy.
Thanks for your responses.
