Our nursing staff seems to like the Vac-Seen scanners. We give over 3,000
shots with these scanners. Our VIS are laminated for employees to look
over. We pre-upload their badge numbers in the scanner for quick turn
around time to identify who we are vaccinating, obtain consent, and
document where/what was given. Employees are offered to have their
documentation e-mailed to them also. We usually have one nurse scanning
and another giving shots; that seems to work best for us.
We are using the updated model, QYK this year. We expect satisfaction with
the new model as well.

We bought and tried the Vacseen scanners but found them challenging with
multiple nurses; we give about 15,000 vaccines in the month of October
using many vaccinators in large mass vaccination events and have found
iPads better for data entry; not scanning but electronic VIS, consent and
we can e-mail documentation for those who need typically rotating at other
hospitals.

Hello-
I am interested in hand held scanners used for mass vaccination programs.
Does anyone have recommendations for a reliable unit?
Thanks
