[MCOH-EH] how do you address needlesticks afterhours?

The ED manages the person and there is consult from specific ID on call who help manage the internal or external exposures.
All occupational exposures are referred back to our department and non occupational exposures are referred to the Infectious Disease clinic the next business day for follow up.
The ID on call emails my department regarding the status of any occupational exposure and we then follow up.

How does your institution address needlesticks after hours?  Do you have an on-line reporting system, do you have a designated on-call person, or do you use the Emergency Department?  Would love to hear from other institutions.
