[MCOH-EH] Balance balls and Treadmills in the Workplace (Brandt, Rita)

We discontinued allowing balance balls as chairs after receiving this information from the State of Wisconsin.
We also did a trial of a very nice treadmill work station for 3 months.  26 staff volunteered to use a treadmill, as much as they wanted, as their workstation over 3 months. At the end of three months only 2 were actually utilizing the treadmill on a regular basis. The rest just slowly quite using it, after their initial enthusiasm. We measured their BP, waist, height and weight and their waist measurement actually increased by ½ inch over the three months of the treadmill trial.   The treadmill workstation now sits in the hallway, virtually unused.  I'd do at least a three month trial before you invest a lot of treadmill work stations.
