LOL!

Our Public Health Lab (Santa Clara) charges $30 for QFT.

I will give my next-born child to the scientist who invents the point-of-care IGRA via fingerstick.

(fair warning, said child would be given as is – no guarantees, no refunds, no returns.)

So what are y’all paying for an IGRA? So far there is just one lab in our state doing them, and they charge over $270 each. Holy moly! Our in house lab thinks they could do for maybe $60, but we’d need to get it much cheaper before we could justify it.

We do T-spot testing and like Deborah mentioned, we did a cost analysis and it was less expensive to go to IGRA testing. The employee cannot start without the results.

We went to Quantiferon Gold after doing time/cost analysis. It was actual less than half the cost when employee time and admin cost was factored.

We do not let new employees start until all on hire EHS criteria are met.

Other option is to email the employee’s manager that the employee needs to return to EHS for follow-up (not saying for what) and if manager’s initiative doesn’t work, go up the admin ladder until you get results.

	Best of luck

My only suggestion is not to let them start working until both are complete. We are changing our policy because so much time is wasted on tracking them down, not to mention PPD solution and supplies. Best wishes!

How does everyone get new hires to return for their second ppd? It seems like we continually are trying track people down. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
