[MCOH-EH] Question

Yes, that can happen. People can have an allergic reaction to any vaccine including flu. It's not necessarily the egg issue, just a vaccine allergy.
Of course that would depend on whether the treating provider thought it was consistent with a drug reaction.

We would advise that employee to discuss it with their PCP who could review their records and draw a well-informed conclusion.

Good morning: I have a question totally unrelated (sorry) but has anyone seen a rash appear after a flu immunization? We had an employee who received flu vaccine Friday and yesterday has a rash. We sent them to ER for eval but was inconclusive of course as relating to injection.

We switched to IGRA blood draws instead. More costly up front, put saved labor hours chasing down staff for the second step, eliminated the inconvenience of returning to have the TST read, and also eliminated any errors in reading the TST.

Subject: [MCOH-EH] Question

I am new in the Employee Health position. I am looking for suggestions to improve the 2step TST compliance. Currently New hires are screened and the first step test is given with instruction to return following orientation for 2nd step. This process does not seem efficient as I am constantly chasing down employees for their 2nd step! Any help would be appreciated.
