[MCOH-EH] Procedures/protocols to ensure competency for older workers?

Back in my VHA days, we encountered the problem periodically.  It typically arose - and was noticed- when subspecialty fellows in training noticed that their attending was no longer performing up to their expectations.  We developed a formal process that included case review, discussion with a service chief, a neuropsychological evaluation, and then a discussion that included the older clinician.  The one I remember retired without a fuss.

That's different from routine performance evaluation, but the professional peer review process should take care of that...
