Craig,

I believe some of your responses will be influenced by Scope of Service.  At MaineHealth we only service our own employees, we do not support external clients.  We are part of the Human Resources Department.  MaineHealth is an integrated network of 10 acute care hospitals including an acute psychiatric facility, home health service and a reference laboratory.  Human Resources across the health system are integrated and therefore the Employee Health staff at each location are part of my direct reports. Prior to integration with HR, member hospitals who serviced employees through an external facing Occupational Health Clinic varied in their reporting structure... some were through Emergency Medicine, some part of the Physician Office structure.
