The ACIP pertussis working group is discussing the issue of Tdap boosters now and will probably present a recommendation at the June 2019 ACIP meeting. It is true that antibodies developed in response to the acellular pertussis component of this vaccine wane quite a bit within just a few years. This is why pregnant women are recommended to receive Tdap during each pregnancy to protect their infants from pertussis.
