[MCOH-EH] EMR

Our facility is transitioning to Epic with go-live in October, and we just went live with Agility for our medical EH function only. Epic is fine for injured worker care, and it has the capability to compartmentalize for protected functions. They call it "break the glass" which requires the user to re-authenticate and then creates an audit trail for who accesses a record. This allows me to see our employees for injury in a protected environment, but the referral specialists can still see my encounters with simple password validation.

Epic does not include any mechanism for tracking/surveillance. If you are going to use Epic solely, you will have to use external spreadsheets or task-specific external software for other functions (e.g. flu shot status). That's where we decided on Agility. It allows for the surveillance tracking and reporting, plus it keeps the EH functions in a separate system which is completely protected from the employer.

I concur with Dr. Joe's email - look at multiple options for EH EMRs. Write down a list of functions that you want/need in an EMR, then ask for demos from your top 3 or 4 products and have them go through those steps in a sales demo to make sure what you purchase fully meets your expectations.

We are also approaching a decision point. Our clinic provides employee health services for the hospital and is also expected to be a revenue generating clinic so we also have outside contracts providing the full scope of occupational medicine services to include some injury management. We recently acquired Systoc. We did not get the full complement of the product and have not been very pleased with the current capabilities. Our hospital is set to begin an Epic build out in the near future. At the recent AOHC conference, it seemed like many institutions were using Epic in their employee health clinics with a "sensitive function". We are struggling with decision to trying to leverage the cost of our being part of the Epic build out to request funding to acquire a more complete Systoc product vs being a part in the Epic build out. Any thoughts?

I have used Agility (Net Health) for 20 years. It used to be known as Stix Integritas until Net Health bought them out 7 or so years ago, Very happy with it especially since Net Health came on board

I am looking at Agility. It works for Employee Health and Occ Health. So far I am very pleased with what I see.
