To Michael's comment I would add to check with the state licensing board on their guidance for physically impaired physicians, as well as the physician's specialty certification board to see if they have physical requirements guidance. They may not have much regarding physical impairments such as these, but it the query might start an inquiry from outside the hospital, which might help bolster the hospital's concerns or actions.

Is there a chief of staff or a credentialing committee at the hospital? DO they undertake a timed (annual, triennial, etc) review of individuals? Do they have a process by which they credential providers? Does that include interviews? With staff members? Are there patient surveys?
Hopsitals should have processes... TJC certainly has some pertinent standards

A number of state agencies have implemented such programs for office type workers. It's hard to imagine this type of program would work in a clinical care setting. That said, a number of hospitals have onsite childcare facilities.

Hello,
Looking for information / feedback on any Infants In the workplace programs. A request / recommendation has been made to set up a pilot program for our workers. I can see advantages in terms of staff who have office / administrative positons but am skeptical of doing in clinical care areas. If anyone is doing this in your healthcare facilities I would love to know what you are doing and how your managing it. Any feedback or information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
