We do screen every employee who interacted with that patient while waiting for results. That way, if it comes back positive we can initiate exposure phone calls and we place each employee on a 14 day monitor. Our hospital system has a computerized monitoring system that reminds the employee to check their temp and enter any symptoms into the tracker. If something is developing, we get contacted.

I'm curious to hear how other facilities are managing Presumed covid exposures.

For example, if you have a patient in the facility and two days into their admission, the Provider orders a Covid test. Do you screen every employee that interacted with that patient? Do you immediately assess their exposure risk while you are waiting for test results? What if test results are delayed (greater than 48hours)??
