[MCOH-EH] Medical Center Remote Workers and immunizations

One cannot legally require staff to accept a flu vaccine. We require that flu vaccines be addressed in one of three ways: they can receive the flu shot at our facility free of charge, can document they’ve received it elsewhere, or refuse vaccine and document why they are refusing. Our policy has always been that staff who refuse the vaccine during flu season are required to wear a mask at all times when in the facility. Of course, now we are all wearing masks anyhow.

We require flu vaccinations for all employees, even those working remotely (unless outside of the country). We feel it is an important general public health measure that hospital systems should support by setting an example for their communities.

        External Email - Use Caution

I am curious about the opinions from members who work in large hospital systems and any policies that either require or don't require immunizations (flu, MMR, etc) of their remote workers. My concern would be how we could effectively monitor if the employee is working completely remotely or transfers to an on-site position. Thoughts?
