We quarantine anyone with exposure to a positive. If your family member is positive you are quarantined. If you can isolate that person it’s 14 days, or if you live somewhere else (we offer early rtw) If you cannot live in same house and have 1 bathroom, it is 24 days.
If your family member was exposed and is well you can work. If they get sick you are home until results.

Hello Dr. Hackett and All,
If an employee has a medium or high risk exposure and is able to isolate from the person, for example, live in different household we have an early return to work program.
We have the employee take two Covid tests.
The first is baseline. The Second is seven days after exposure, if both are negative and the employee had no symptoms, they are returned on day 8. If they have any symptoms they are off for 14 days and screened, tested kept off according to their symptoms.
We also created the template below to guide our return to work process. Hope it may help.

We are facing staffing shortages and will likely need to follow the cdc guidance allowing positive employees to work under their guidelines.
Is anyone allowing quarantined workers to return to work following the CDC guidance
We are telling management that they need to determine what’s critical.
It’s feeling quite uncomfortable.
Thank you
Charlie Hackett MD, MPH, Lifespan
