We have been involved in the process of vaccinating our employees, but since the vaccine is voluntary for them, reactions are not considered to be work-related/compensable through worker's compensation. We are using a patient safety event reporting process through the pharmacy for staff to report any adverse events, and pharmacy has taken the lead on reporting. If a staff member reached out to the occupational health team, we would work with pharmacy to get the forms and the VAERS reporting completed. We refer patients to their PCP for ongoing care and treatment of those reactions that are more significant or longer lasting.
