I would like to ask this group how you are managing preemployment screening for fully remote hires. We have our standard that we have always used for our healthcare system (drug screen, physical, TB screening, vaccines, etc.) but we are now hiring more fully remote (and very physically distant) employees into support roles for the organization. These are individuals who do not perform patient care and will likely never even come onto our campus or into our facilities. They often struggle to find a clinic near their home to complete all of the requirements and then bill us for the services. We are looking at crafting a separate set of requirements for preemployment screening for these individuals, and would love some input from others.
On another note, I am also interested in how others handle job transfers within the healthcare system, i.e. previously non-patient care or remote now transferring into onsite/patient care role. Do you have a system to identify these employees and have employee health review prior to transfer to ensure they meet all of the criteria for their new role?
Thank you!
