Hi Amber
Thanx for this message. So sorry to hear this. I tried to email June a couple of times last year just to see how she was doing but never got a reply. I emailed Bob Harrison too and he wasn't sure what her status was. I will miss her.
Bonnie

Based at San Francisco General Hospital, she was a key player in developing "safe needles" to prevent bloodborne infections, saving countless lives. Starting in 1982, she also worked locally with Transport Workers Union local 250A and MUNI management in the longest-running and most consistent research effort to examine and improve the working conditions and health of transit workers around the world.

June also worked with nurses, fire fighters, paramedics, dental and home care, health and safety activists, unions, academic institutions, NIOSH, OSHA, and others to tackle design and other types of hazards facing workers. The results have had, and continue to have, a global impact. Later in life, she was passionate about elder design and making communities safer for seniors.

June died on November 28, 2024, in San Francisco. She was 91.

Join us from 7 - 8:30 PM EST on February 28th to hear from health and safety activists, researchers, colleagues, and friends who worked with and loved June. There also will be time to tell your stories about this remarkable woman.

The event will be recorded.
