Job Description The Director for Occupational Health Services (OHS) is a member of the (SHC/LPCH) HR leadership team and as such is the primary decision maker
for the occupational health programs including pre-placement, infection control/surveillance, worker"s compensation/claims management, transitional return to work and pre- accident (prevention) and loss control activities. This position is responsible for
strategic planning, program design and implementation, occupational health administration, and program and service evaluation. The Director is on the Environmental of Care (EOC) Committee for both hospitals and supports safety initiatives throughout. Jointly
with the Human Resource Benefits and Wellness Team, the OHS Director partners in the design and execution of programs that promote health, safety and well being.As a member of the HR leadership team, this role also carries a joint responsibility with other
leadership members for the successful growth and transformation of the overall HR function to deliver service excellence to the business and create an employee experience consistent with the Stanford brand. Essential Functions Accountable
for performing all functions related to supervising a staff including interviewing and hiring, training and coaching, evaluating performance, approval personnel actions such as pay increases, promotions, transfers and/or taking disciplinary action, etc. Accountable
for the execution of Occupational Health Services in coordination with leadership including human resources, risk management, finance, clinical departments, facilities, environmental health and safety and quality assurance. Applies knowledge and professional
strategic leadership experience of occupational health and public health concepts and practices to design and strategic planning in disease prevention, evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation of work related illnesses/injuries and management of disability
and pre-accident/loss control investigation and analysis to ensure quality and efficiency in the development, delivery and evaluation of services by Occupational Health Services. Collaborates with risk management, environmental health and safety and human
resources in the management of the workers" compensation claims and managed care vendor. Collaborates with the program Medical Director to assure clinical oversight of the Occupational Health Services program. Directs fiscal management, budget planning and
quality assurance including program performance metrics. Directs the Occupational Health Services program including financial, operations and staff management and evaluation of all program components to ensure achievement of organizational goals and objectives.
Ensures systematic adherence with all organizational standards and practices including compliance with all federal and state laws. Directs Occupational Health Services policies, procedures and requirements, making changes as needed and consulting and informing
senior leadership and all impacted parties, both internal and external. Establishes performance measurement criteria consistent with organizational, risk management and human resource"s performance standards in order to evaluate program structure, process
efficiencies, and cost effectiveness of the program. Presents measurement reports to HR and SHC/LCPH leadership on a basis consistent with organizational standards and practices. Represents Occupational Health Services in coordination of compliance and/or
resolution of issues with clinical departments, human resources, risk management, infection control, environmental health & safety and county and state public health departments. Serves as a resource and leader in occupational health services for the Occupational
Health Services Medical Director, Medical Advisor, Advanced Practice Providers , TRTW Coordinator, Clinical Case Manager, UR Physician Consultant and the clinical and administrative staff. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to direct and manage the development
and implementation of programs and processes related to occupational health services Ability to foster effective working relationships and build consensus Ability to identify, design and administer plans that support hospital strategic goals and attract, reward
and retain talent Ability to mediate and resolve complex problems and issues Ability to provide leadership and influence others Ability to research, develop and measure programs and services including policies and procedures, data analysis, standards of practice
and clinical care guidelines Ability to understand and use information technology to drive process changes Ability to apply industry leading practices and advances in Healthcare Industry to program design and process changes to provide leading edge services
to managers and employees in the areas of Occupational Health Management/Administration, Worker"s Compensation Medical and Disability Management, Infection Control and Medical Surveillance, Health Promotion, Integrated Absence Management Environmental Health
& Safety Management, and Risk Management Knowledge (Management and Administration) of Healthcare Industry leading practices and advances in Occupational Health; Worker"s Compensation Medical & Disability; Infection Control and Medical Surveillance; Health
Promotion; Integrated Absence; Environmental Health & Safety and Risk Knowledge of local, state and federal regulatory requirement related to the functional area Knowledge of local, state and federal regulatory requirements related to areas of functional responsibility

three (3) years Occupational Health Program Administration License/Certification: CA Registered Nurse (RN) Certified Occupational Health Nurse through the Americal Board of Occupational Health Nurses strongly preferred
