As some of you may know, AHRQ has developed the CANDOR Program https://www.ahrq.gov/professionals/quality-patient-safety/patient-safety-resources/resources/candor/introduction.html which addresses institutional responses to  “Never” events.

Module 6 focuses on Care for the Caregiver…the individual who was involved in the “Never” event.  It includes physicians as well as nurses and other staff.  

We are developing our in-house Care for Caregiver protocols;  looking at a multidisciplinary intervention team that we could also use, for example, in employees involved in workplace violence incidents.

 

Would appreciate any information you could share on how you have addressed this in your hospitals.
