CAPR’s are Computerized Air Purifying Respirator, Manufacturer is Max Air. They are not tightfitting  like a N-95 and therefore they  do not put any additional demand on the cardiovascular or respiratory system and my understanding is therefore do not need a medical evalaution

Susan,

Can you tell us more about what you mean by “CAPR – loose fitting” and why there would be no need for medical clearance?

Thanks,

We are in the process of transitioning to a CAPR-loose fitting therefore no medical clearance needed.

Same answer at Stanford. We utilize PAPRs for those who can’t fit the N95 properly or perform high risk procedures.

Has anyone converted to almost all PAPR use versus N-95s?  Recent DNV surveyor made a suggestion that our organization may want to explore this to almost eliminate the need for fit testing.
