The exposed person is offered the opportunity to have their blood tested, not based on HIV status according to our regional OSHA office in Ga.

If others have different information, please share, Ga falls under Federal OSHA.

Hi
Guidelines for exposure is located in the OSHA blood borne pathogen exposures.
We only test employees if the sources is positive for HIV, HCV, HB. The HIV results is obtained within 2 hours of exposure. The HB antigen and HCV results are obtained within 48-72 hours.

Cannot find direction on this in either OSHA sources or CDC so if anyone can cite the location that would be helpful. Thanks for any help,
