If there is a high risk exposure or positive HIV we have the ED provider call the PEP hotline but see now that they are no longer staffed 24 hours.

We also dispense a 6 day supply of meds as it can take a few days to get work comp to approve to pay for the meds.

We have had caregivers get the usual 3 day supply and then not get the rest due to cost.

Here is one I put together for our organization as well as the NYS guidelines algorithm. I have it laminated and posted on all inpatient units. It follows NYS guidelines. I hope this helps!
