We require documentation of the placement and read dates with results.  We don’t accept just the read date with result as we can’t be certain it was read in the appropriate time frame.  We will accept the TST information from either employee health department or a clinic if all the information is on the documentation.

Subject: [MCOH-EH] Placement & Read Dates for TB Skin Tests

Hello All,

Following CDC recommendation for TB Skin Testing the read is done 48-72 hours after placement.  What do you require for documentation of a TST when not done in your facility?

Do you need both the placement and read dates with result?  Do you also accept just read date with result?  Does it make a difference if the TST information comes from an employee health department/clinic?

Thanks,

Therese
