Yes we have adequate supply of CAPR’s & PAPR’s. Lucky to have started with large number of PAPR’s early on and now use for Home Health, Primary, Urgent & ED locations. When CAPR’s came out we trialed and once
the Code Team used them they wouldn’t go back to PAPR’s so admin brought on more for in house which allowed us to push PAPR’s out to the other locations.

Therese,
You mention that Employee Health does initial and annual fit testing for N-95’s, but only MRI staff use them? What do other staff use? Does everyone else use PAPR’s?
Thanks,

Employee health does the respirator medical evaluation questionnaires, and initial new hire training on CAPR’s & PAPR’s. We do new hire onboarding every two weeks. Employee health also does the initial and annual
Fit-testing for N-95’s. It’s a small group since only MRI staff use them and we arrange appointments as needed.

Hello,
I would like to ask the group how your organizations manage PAPR programs. Our Employee Health department does the medical clearance and fit testing for N95 respirators. We are currently reviewing responsibilities for PAPR training, maintenance
for employees who cannot be fit tested.
Does your Environmental health and safety department manage and/or train staff on PAPR use? Is there another department in your institution that does this? Or does this fall to your Employee Health/Occupational Health department?
Thank you in advance for your input.
