We do TB screening on everyone on initial hire. We are in a low incidence of TB and do not do yearly testing therefore we are covered if someone moves into a
position that would require screening.
As far as testing caregivers that do not encounter patients we only ask for a Tdap as we have had several outbreaks of pertussis and want to try to contain that
within our population.

I am writing to the group to ask if anyone has different preplacement screening requirements for patient contact vs non patient contact staff. For example, would you require someone from your HR or Finance department to have screening
for TB, MMR, varicella?
I have been asked to review our practices and consider reducing the screening requirements for those who would work in an office setting and not interact with patients.
