Maggie,
Our Public Safety officers have worn the vests for years. I have had no complaints – they must be used to them! I like the “break in” plan you are using. I can only assure you that they will get used to them!

Subject: [MCOH-EH] ballistic vests
Hello,
Our security department recently implemented a new policy requiring all security officers to wear ballistic (bullet proof) vests.
Some of our employees are having a difficult time wearing it due to back/shoulder strain.
Wearing the vest is required but we did offer a “break in period” where they would start wearing for 1 hour per shift daily and then take it off and continue to build over a period of time until they are wearing full time.
Despite this some employees are having issues.
Does anyone have experience with this or suggestions that would help make this transition easier?
Thanks,
Maggie
