Was the source patient’s mouth and nose covered when coughing, sneezing etc. when you were in the same room?
Did you wear a facemask or shield when with the patient?
Did you wear protective facemask is CPR was initiated
Did you have close contact in room for less than 60 minutes. Face to face contact? Invasive procedure performed by you?
Would it be considered a non-exposure if they were with the patient for less than 60 minutes?
We generally only tests those who provided direct care or who respond with positive answers to questions above.
We test immediately and then repeat in 10 weeks.
If we get positive results then we expand our testing to others.
When you have confirmed an exposure? What are your next steps? Do you have the employees do a TB test now and then at a later date?
