I just checked with our PPE folks who report that UV is a no go-it degrades the structure of the mask in a single run per 3M. We are evaluating vaporized hydrogen peroxide that has received FDA approval.

Stay safe and Stay healthy,

Subject: [EXTERNAL] [MCOH-EH] Mask reuse

At our health center we are planning on a mask reuse program so if we get to the point that we need to reuse procedural masks and N95 respirators we have a policy/process in place.

For procedural masks we are autoclaving, for N95 following a similar process as reported by the University of Nebraska with UV decontamination and returning the N95 to the original user up to maybe 5 times based off how well the masks hold up.

Interested in any other institutions program/process that you have been using, things that have seemed to go well, versus things that don't seem to go well?

We have process engineers setting up our processes, and will share those once they are developed.

Thank you
