Our pharmacy department is going to make the saccharin solution for us and ordered the ingredients from Spectrum chemicals. 

 

This is the recipe (copied from OSHA Respiratory Protection Standard 29 CFR 1910.134 Appendix A)

 

Saccharin

(5) The fit test solution is prepared by adding 83 grams of sodium saccharin to 100 ml of warm water.

 

BitrexTM (Denatonium benzoate)

(5) The fit test solution is prepared by adding 337.5 mg of Bitrex to 200 ml of a 5% salt (NaCl) solution in warm water.

 

The link is to Spectrum chemicals is below. Yesterday, I called the CS line, 1.800.772.8786, and was informed that there is a 2-3 week time lag for the Moldex Bitrex Sensitivity Solution and the Moldex Fit Test solution.

Wit fit testing solution hard to come by these days, are any of you using Stannic Chloride or Isoamyl Acetate to fit test???

 

Or does anyone have an abundance of testing solution they would sell??  We have community partners who need tested and we are low on solution.
