Good morning,

I work as a contractor for a company that has been fully Latex free for a number of years and that requires the use of sterile Nitrile gloves in one of their drug manufacturing processes.  They were informed by their purchasing distributor that there is a shortage of the sterile Nitrile gloves, and there is only availability of Latex sterile gloves which provide concerns as an alternative.

Have any of your hospital systems or worksites experienced a shortage of Nitrile sterile gloves? How is the employer addressing this?  Has your system switched back to or continue to use Latex gloves and can you provide information on how you surveil, evaluate or address employees who develop glove or Latex allergies?

Any feedback on how to approach or benchmark information on prior or current procedures would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
